Legal

Terms and Conditions

The rules for competitors and vote givers — fees, prizes, the vote goal, and the no-refund policy.

Last reviewed: replace this line with the date you publish.

Have these terms reviewed by a qualified lawyer before launch. They set out how the TikTok Creators Money Challenge actually operates, but they are not legal advice.

1. Acceptance of terms

By registering as a competitor, purchasing a vote, or otherwise interacting with this campaign, you explicitly agree to comply with and be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions and by our Privacy Policy.

You must be at least 18 years old, or have the permission of a parent or guardian, to make a payment on this site.

2. Competitor rules and fees

Registration fee

500 ETB — non-refundable.

You submit your entry free of charge. The fee becomes payable only once our team has approved your entry, so if your entry is not accepted you pay nothing. Your profile becomes publicly visible, and able to receive votes, once the fee is settled.

Accuracy and ownership

The TikTok account you enter must be one you personally control, and the details you submit — handle, follower count and category — must be accurate. We verify every entry against the live profile before approving it.

Your handle and category are fixed once approved, because they are exactly what we verified. Contact us if either genuinely needs to change.

We may reject or remove an entry at any time, including after approval, if the information is inaccurate, if the account appears not to be yours, or if the content breaches these terms.

Fair play

Fraudulent voting, the use of bots, or any manipulation of the vote count will result in immediate disqualification without refund. We may void votes connected to fraudulent payments even after they have been counted, and adjust the leaderboard accordingly.

3. Vote giver rules

Cost per vote: 154.5 ETB.

A vote is a financial contribution supporting both the creator you choose and the charitable mission described on our About page. It is not a purchase of goods, a donation to an individual creator, a lottery entry, or an investment.

  • You may vote as many times as you like, for as many creators as you like.
  • No account is required. We ask only for a phone number, which our payment provider needs in order to take the payment.
  • The price per vote is fixed at the moment you check out; a later price change never affects a transaction already in progress.
  • Your votes are counted only after Chapa confirms your payment. If a payment fails or is never completed, no votes are counted.

If money leaves your account but your votes do not appear within a few minutes, contact us at info@standingbymigrant.org with your transaction reference.

4. Target threshold and challenge extension

The challenge runs to a minimum platform-wide goal of 30,000 votes.

If that target is not reached within one month, the challenge automatically extends until the goal is achieved. Winners will not be announced or paid until the goal is met.

5. Strict no-refund policy

All registration fees and vote purchases are final. No refunds, reversals or transfers will be provided under any circumstances.

The only exceptions are those we are required to honour by law, and genuine duplicate charges where you were billed more than once for the same transaction. Write to info@standingbymigrant.org within 14 days with your transaction reference.

6. Publication of entries

By entering, you allow us to display your name, TikTok handle, profile link, follower count, photo and vote count publicly for the duration of the challenge and afterwards as part of the published results.

7. Content standards

Material you submit — including your bio and photo — must not be unlawful, hateful, harassing or sexually explicit, and must not infringe anyone else's rights. We may remove any content that breaches this, without notice.

8. The challenge

  • Start and end dates are shown on the site and may be changed by us.
  • We may pause or end the challenge early where necessary, for example to deal with fraud or a technical failure.
  • When the challenge ends the leaderboard is frozen and the standings are final.
  • Payment of a prize requires the winner to provide valid payout details and any identification we reasonably need to make the transfer lawfully.

9. Availability

We provide the site "as is" and do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error free. We may suspend it for maintenance or for any other reason.

10. Our liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Standing By Migrant Organization is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for fraud.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. The version published here at the time you pay is the version that applies to that transaction. Material changes will be noted here.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, and the courts of Ethiopia have jurisdiction over any dispute.
